Adventure Quest
First & Second Terms
Grades 4–5, 9:30–10:30 am
Grades 6–8, 8:30–9:30 am

Join us for adventure and intrigue as you rise to the challenge and battle the Forces of Darkness. “Heroes of Might and Magic” is a complex fantasy simulation game that will keep your wits sharp–if you want to survive! Fee: $125 per term

Beginning Spanish
First & Second Terms/Grades 4–6, 10:30–11:30 am
Students are introduced to the basic vocabulary and structure of the language through songs, games, multimedia, arts, and crafts. The class emphasizes conversation. Children will learn days of the week, months of the year, parts of the body, numbers, time, clothing items, classroom objects, names of some school subjects, colors, common animals, and weather. Learn to appreciate a foreign culture and the basic elements of a new language. Fee: $125 per term

Computer Keyboarding
First & Second Terms/Grades 4–8, 11:30 am–12:30 pm
Accuracy in the touch system is stressed in this basic course on the alphabetic keyboard. Instruction will be offered on computers using Microsoft Word. The course’s emphasis on letter/report formats provides a valuable preparation for word processing.
Fee: $125 per term

Math Enrichment
First & Second Terms/Grades 4–5, 11:30 am–12:30 pm
This class provides math practice in basic concepts and skills through a format created to stimulate interest and enthusiasm. All activities are age appropriate and will be individualized after an assessment of each student’s strengths and weaknesses.

Students may move as fast as they are able or as slowly as they need. For those entering grade 6 in September, there will be a review of place value and arithmetic with whole numbers and decimals, fractions, story problems, ratios, and proportions. Fee: $125 per term

Orientation to Middle School
First & Second Terms/Grades 6–7, 8:30–9:30 am
This course guides students as they develop the writing and organizational skills necessary for a successful middle school experience. Students learn how to manage time effectively, how to take notes in class, and how to read and comprehend textbooks in history, science, and English. The course also focuses on writing skills by helping students identify a thesis statement, organize their thoughts through webbing and outlining, and develop a sense of argument by supporting general statements with specific examples. There is also an opportunity to learn research techniques in the library.

This course can be enhanced through enrichment courses in mathematics, reading comprehension, and computer keyboarding. Fee: $125 per term

Reading Enrichment/Creative Writing
First & Second Terms/Grades 4–5, 10:30–11:30 am
Individualized instruction cultivates confidence by increasing reading comprehensions, rate, and vocabulary. Students review and strengthen writing skills by keeping personal journals and by participating in various creative writing activities. Fee: $125 per term

Young Einstein
First & Second Terms/Grades 4–5, 8:30–9:30 am
This course engages the imagination and gives children the opportunity to explore new horizons in science. Join us as we work in the laboratory with electricity, magnetism and the components of light.
